Dear Injured Athletes,

I know how you feel.

Literally. I’ve had 5 surgeries, all sports-related. On top of that I’ve dealt with countless overuse injuries in my 15+ years of competition (seriously - ask my physical therapist, my file is about a mile long). You could say I’m unlucky, you could say my body isn’t “meant for this”, you could say maybe I should pursue something else. In all cases, you’d be wrong.

I truly believe hurdles are put in our lives so we can learn to jump higher. And higher I have jumped … every injury, every comeback, every time. So when I look at WHY I’ve gone through all this, the reason becomes clear. My injuries led me to create this program - my injuries led me to you.

I hate that this is a part of your story and I wish you didn’t have to be here seeking support. I know all too well what it’s like to feel lost during injury as resources are limited for athletes during this time. The Comeback Academy is here to help fill that gap.

Like your injury, your comeback journey will be uniquely yours. Along the way I’ll guide, support, listen, and share with you everything in MY comeback toolkit to help you start to create your own.

This isn’t going to be easy, but it’s going to be worth it.

Welcome to your Comeback.

You ready? Let’s do this.

Module 3: Slow it Down

Let’s face it, athletes suck at “slowing down”. In this module, we dive into rest and relaxation techniques to help ease mind and body stress during injury.

Module 4: Open It Up

Often athletes’ identities are wrapped up solely in sport. Here we take the time to open up, explore ourselves, think long term, and see who we are outside of athletics.

Module 5: Off the Bench

Lack of confidence, fear, and doubt can be huge factors for athletes returning to sport. This module addresses these limiting beliefs and more.

Module 6: The Comeback

You’re ready. What now? In our final module, we reflect on the journey, and apply lessons learned during our downtime to not just our sport, but life.

No athlete is truly tested until they have stared injury in the face and come out on the other side stronger than ever.

Dear Coaches,

Athletes get injured. I was one of them.

Marist.jpeg

When I became a coach, I empathized with how hard it is to be there for both your healthy AND injured athletes. It’s often easiest to simply send athletes to the training room and say, “Come back when you’re better!”. We don’t mean this with ill-intent, of course, we simply have so much going on and think this is all best left in the hands of professionals, right? Sort of.

Unfortunately, the medical care your athlete will receive only deal with what is going on in their BODY. What about the mind? What about the feelings of isolation, depression, loss of routine, and identity crisis? Who is helping them with that?

Being on both ends of this as the injured athlete and as a coach, I have found that there are little to no resources for athletes during this time. They are more often than not left to deal with all the accessory mental issues, alongside the physical, by themselves.

You can change that. Better yet - you should. In this 1-Day course you will find the very best practices for supporting your athletes when they get injured as well as receive information and discounts on Comeback Conditioning. Not only will it help them in the long run, but it will more than likely lead to them returning to sport faster, and in the best mental headspace possible.

It starts with you.

You ready? Let’s do this.
